A driver rear-ended another vehicle before running off the road and into a tree in Burlington, police said.
BURLINGTON -- A woman was seriously injured in a car crash during the early hours of Sunday morning, police said.
The accident happened at about 3:20 a.m. near milemarker 46. State police said Aaron Evans was driving a Toyota pickup truck northbound on I-295 when he was rear-ended by a Chevy Malibu driven by Heather Salter, 28, of Burlington.

Salter hit the back of Evans' truck, then veered off the side of the road and struck a tree. She had to be extricated from the car by emergency responders, and was taken to Cooper Hospital in Camden with serious injuries. Authorities could not provide details on her condition Sunday afternoon.
Evans, whose age and hometown were not immediately available, did not appear to have been seriously hurt. There was no word on Sunday about the cause of the crash. The incident is under investigation, and no charges have yet been filed.
