City officials issued a statement Sunday afternoon saying that all roads in the southwest portion of town had been reopened
HOBOKEN - One week after a large water main break shut down much of Hoboken, full service has been returned to faucets and roadways around the city.
In a statement issued Sunday afternoon, officials confirmed that its water supply had been returned to normal, and that roads road around Newark and Harrison streets in the southwest corner of the city had been reopened.
While they warned that some tap water might still initially appear discolored, it has been tested and is safe to drink. A boil water advisory that had been issued earlier in the week is no longer in effect.

The water main ruptured last Sunday, leading to low water pressure around the city, along with flooding and traffic issues. A backup water system had been installed by Tuesday, and SUEZ Water began water main repairs the following day.
The break also affected large portions of Jersey City, although normal service was restored there earlier this week.
In a statement, Mayor Dawn Zimmer thanked residents for their patience, and praised SUEZ Water, police and other officials who worked "around the clock" to restore services and keep residents up to date on their progress.
