An 18-year-old man suffered minor injuries when he was shot in his car Friday night.
TRENTON - An 18-year-old male was shot in the arm Friday night while stopped in at a light while driving, Trenton police said.
"The victim told us he was driving in the area of Broad and Cass streets," police spokesman Lt. Stephen Varn said. "When he came to a stop he noticed a silhouette of an individual on the right side of his car and heard a shot."
Varn said the teen, a Trenton resident, sped away after realizing he was hit in the right arm.
In the area of Route 29 and Memorial Drive, Varn said the victim saw a New Jersey State Police patrol car and flagged down the officer, at around 11:30 p.m.
The victim was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton where he was treated for a minor injury to his arm and was released Saturday morning.
The shooting is being investigated by the Trenton Shooting Response Team.
