FRANKLIN -- A Point Pleasant man has been arrested and charged with promoting prostitution in the township.
Chris Soubasis, 52, is alleged to have managed and transported several individuals to various hotels to engage in sexual acts at a rate of $200 per hour, according to an affidavit filed in Somerset County Superior Court.
On Dec. 15, Soubasis admitted to authorities that he transported two women to different hotels to perform sex acts, and would receive a certain percentage of the money they received, the affidavit showed.
According to the affidavit, one woman admitted to authorities that she worked for Soubasis and gave him 40 percent of the money she made. A second woman also admitted she worked for Soubasis and gave him a 50 percent cut of the money she took in.
A record from one hotel indicated Soubasis has been a regular there since October 2014, the affidavit showed.
Soubasis is being held in the Somerset County Jail on $30,000 bail, according to the affidavit.
