In October the man was found with handcuffs, police clothing and badges in his car.
TRENTON - A Ewing man who was charged with impersonating a police officer while on probation for impersonating a police officer, received probation Friday.
Johnny Fields, 60, appeared in court Friday for his second impersonating charge since 2012. He was given an extended probation - until March 2017 - and ordered to undergo an evaluation to determine whether he needs sex offender counseling.
Authorities have said Fields was on parole in October for the first impersonating conviction when officers searched his car. Inside they found handcuffs, placards, police clothing and a police pistol holder. The car was also modified to look like a police car, authorities have said.

Fields was charged with impersonating a police officer for the incident.
"I did make a bad judgment call," Fields admitted in court Friday.
Fields, who has served 114 days in jail for the charges, was set to be released Friday to finish his probation. If he violates his probation again he will face jail time; the 114 days would be used toward that sentence, Assistant Prosecutor Heather Hadley said Friday.
When sentencing Fields to the additional probation time, Superior Court Judge Darlene Pereksta said in court that she believed there was at least some risk Fields would commit the offense again.
