Rainy weather on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is likely

While the week begins on a dry note, wet weather will soon be back in New Jersey and it will stick around for awhile.

Monday will be the most pleasant day of the next few, with forecasters calling for sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 40s. Part of South Jersey could even reach the 50 degree mark this afternoon.

Clouds increase this evening as overnight temperatures fall into the upper 20s and low 30s, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday will be cloudy and cooler with highs only in the low 40s. Beginning around 2 p.m. there's a chance of rain.

Rain is likely statewide Tuesday night.

Wednesday will be the wettest day of the week as forecasters say a strong storm with heavy rain could lead to poor drainage and roadway flooding. Highs will be in the low 50s Wednesday. More than an inch of rain is likely to fall .

Early indications are the wet weather is expected to continue into Thursday.

Other than in northwestern New Jersey, where there's a slight chance of non-accumulating snow for a couple of hours on Tuesday afternoon, there's no threat of a snowstorm this week.
