Assemblyman Nicholas A. Chiaravalloti cut the ribbon today on his new office on Broadway, saying he hopes it will become a "resource for the community."

BAYONNE -- Assemblyman Nicholas A. Chiaravalloti cut the ribbon today on his new office on Broadway, saying he hopes it will become a "resource for the community."

Chiaravalloti said he and Assemblywoman Angela McKnight "knew that it was important to have a presence both in Bayonne and Jersey City" after being elected in November.

"Being born and raised in Bayonne, it made sense for me to open an office in the heart of Broadway," he said. "Our goal really is to be accessible to our constituents, and we invite people to come in on any issues they have."

Chiaravalloti and McKnight represent the 31st District, which includes Bayonne and parts of Jersey City.

Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis, city council members, state Sen. Sandra Cunningham and others attended the event, which included an open house from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The office, located at 836 Broadway, will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. On Thursday, the office will be open from 11 a.m.to 7 p.m.

Chiaravalloti said any constituent who would like to communicate his or her concerns to him can visit his office; call his office at 201-471-2347; or email him at AsmChiaravalloti@njleg.org.
