NEPTUNE TOWNSHIP -- Two township teens were arrested for their roles in an after-school stabbing and robbery of another boy, police said Friday.

The 16-year-old victim told authorities he was walking from school near Bradley and Taylor avenues on Monday when he started fighting with a 15-year-old boy, according to a police press release.

A 15-year-old boy pulled a knife and stabbed the other teen several times during the brawl, police said. Another boy, a 14-year-old, went through the injured teen's pockets and tried to take his money.

Police said the victim was treated for minor cuts and a puncture wound at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

The 15-year-old boy was charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and weapons offenses. Police charged the 14-year-old boy with robbery.

Authorities did not release the names of the boys because of their ages. Both were taken the Middlesex County Youth Detention Center on Tuesday.

Anyone with information about the attack was asked to contact Neptune Township Police Detective Erick Amadruto at 732-988-8000 ext419, phone in an anonymous tip to Monmouth County Crime Stoppers at 800-671-4100 or text "Monmouth" to 274637.
