A Jersey City man is believed to have drowned at a state park.
WEST MILFORD -- A Jersey City man who disappeared beneath the waters of a swimming hole at a state park was still missing more than 24 hours after authorities began searching for him, the state Department of Environmental Protection said Friday night.
The man had been swimming at Long Pond Ironworks State Park with four friends Thursday afternoon when he submerged and failed to surface. Dive teams from West Milford began searching for the 21-year-old man shortly after the friends called law enforcement around 4 p.m.

The search continued until it was suspended Thursday night, then resumed Friday morning. Dive teams combed the area for several hours before the search was again suspended Friday night.
Authorities are "reviewing the results of the Friday dive searches to determine how to move forward," said DEP spokesman Bob Considine.
