Parents, children and even a few dogs donned green for today's 43rd annual West Hudson St. Patrick's Day Parade.
The parade started on Harrison Avenue in Harrison, turned onto Central Avenue in East Newark, and then concluded down Kearny Avenue at Kearny Town Hall.
The Ross family from Highlands Lakes comes to the parade every year.
"My uncle used to be a pipe band drummer, now we come for tradition," said Chris Ross, who attended with his wife Stephanie and their daughter Kylee.
Diana Pinto attended with her children Alexis, Alexander and Adrian. The kids said they like to wait for the floats that throw candy to them.
The parade included groups and floats from local marching bands, cheerleaders, and organizations, fire and police vehicles, politicians and dignitaries, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office and more.
Lindsey Giannini, Miss New Jersey, also was part of the parade.
