A Whiting man is in critical condition following a Berkeley crash.
BERKELEY -- A 57-year-old Whiting man was in critical condition following an accident Thursday night, township police said in a statement.
According to a preliminary investigation, Michael Graf was driving west on Rt. 530 around 6:15 p.m., near Robert J. Miller Air Park, when his vehicle left the road. It struck a guardrail on the north side of the roadway, then careened across the eastbound lane and struck the opposite guardrail, police said.
The car then rolled on impact, landing on the passenger side and partly ejecting Graf, who became pinned underneath. Firefighters form Whiting and the Manitou Park volunteer units freed Graf, who was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in critical condition.
The crash is being investigated by Berkeley Officer Daniel Williams, Lacey Township police, the Ocean Country FAST Team and the Ocean County Sheriff's Crime Scene Unit.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Berkeley Police at 732-341-1132, ext. 125.
