BYRAM TOWNSHIP -- A brush fire spread to a house and a propane tank, causing it to explode in the township Saturday afternoon, a fire official said.
No one was home at the Amity Road residence when the fire sparked around 3:50 p.m., Fire Chief Todd Rudloff said. There were no injuries.
Fire crews had to truck in water at the scene, the chief added. Emergency services from Byram, Budd Lake, Andover, Jefferson, Sparta and the Sussex County Fire Marshal responded.
