Friday brings the threat of showers and thunderstorms
It'll be another day of warm, dry, breezy weather in New Jersey.
Thursday's highs will be in the low to mid 70s away from the Shore and in the upper 60s closer to the ocean, the National Weather Service says. Winds will be especially prevalent in the five northeast counties, where gusts out of the southwest could reach 20 to 25 mph.
It's a fairly chilly start to the day with temperatures in the low to mid 40s in most places as of 7 a.m., the state climatologist's office said. It's colder than that in Walpack and Berkeley (30 in both locations) while the warmest spots include Harvey Cedars and Dennis Township, both checking in at 52.
Expect a cloudy, mild evening with lows settling into the 50s.
Showers are likely with thunderstorms possible on a cloudy Friday. It stays warm with even Shore locations making it into the 70s. There's a threat of additional rain on Friday night.
Saturday and Sunday should both be mainly dry, but temperatures will be cooler than they've been. Highs will be in the 60s both days.
There's an elevated risk of wildfire Thursday in New Jersey because of low humidity and gusty winds.
