Special lights set for this weekend
The Ben Franklin Bridge will light up purple this weekend in a tribute to music icon Prince, who died Thursday, officials announced Saturday.
"Over the course of his career, Prince was an inspiration to billions of fans worldwide," Delaware River Port Authority Board Chair Ryan Boyer said in a statement. "In his honor, we will light the Ben Franklin bridge purple in hopes that it serve as an inspiration to the millions of people in our very own region."
The Philadelphia to Camden crossing will continue the special lighting through Sunday, officials said.

"Lighting the Ben Franklin Bridge purple is just a small way to memorialize and honor Prince's amazing talent," said John Hanson, the DRPA chief executive officer.
Two movie chains announced they would show Prince's 1984 film "Purple Rain" beginning Saturday at locations around the country, including several in New Jersey.
