Eisenstein was suspended with pay after an investigation determined he didn't use excessive force in breaking up the fight at the New York Avenue School.

The board of education in February followed interim Superintendent Paul Spaventa's recommendation to fire Eisenstein, though.

Eisenstein, 28, allegedly dragged the student who started the fight to the office.

The board changed its mind following a wave of support for the physical education teacher, which included a standing-room only gathering Monday.

An Atlantic City native, Eisenstein was paid $50,308 in 2015, according to public records.

The New York Avenue School enrolled about 614 Pre K-8 students, according to 2014 figures.
