The man fled to his girlfriend's home following the October robbery of a Santander branch.
FREEHOLD -- An Old Bridge man may face a seven-year prison sentence after admitting Monday he robbed a Hazlet bank in October, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni said in a statement.
Under a plea agreement, Stephen Fedorka, 34, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree robbery. His sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 16.
On Oct. 28, Fedorka entered the Santander Bank on Rt. 36 and handed the teller a note demanding money and stating he had a gun. Fedorka fled with a bag of cash pulled from the cashier drawers and went to his girlfriend's house nearby. He took the woman's car and left the area.
He was caught three days later when he returned to the girlfriend's house to retrieve personal items, authorities said.
