No one was hurt in the blaze at Belford Seafood Co-op, police said.

BELFORD -- Fire broke out at the Belford Seafood Co-op early Friday night as Shore communities braced for the oncoming crowds headed to the beach for Memorial Day Weekend.

The fire broke out at the co-op's ice house, causing "very significant damage", Deputy Chief Steve Dollinger said. No one was injured.

The co-op is collectively owned by the members of the fishing fleet. It was heavily damaged by Hurricane Sandy but rebuilt and was back in business within a year.
