Dogs also reportedly found 'emaciated and filthy'
WEST NEW YORK -- More than 80 cats along with dogs were found in small cages in a West New York apartment Friday, according to reports.
The discovery came after a neighbor called police about a foul odor coming from the apartment, WABC-TV reported. The cats and at least five dogs were found in the building on 52nd Street, the report said.
West New York Health Officer Dr. Gina Miranda-Diaz said some dogs were "emaciated and filthy," according to NBC New York.
Authorities arrested two people on animal cruelty charges, the report said. Officials did not release the names of the accused.
