Jersey City police arrested a man early Saturday morning and charged him with several offenses related to weapons possession after a foot chase along Duncan Avenue, according to a police report.

Several officers in an unmarked car and wearing plain clothes were on patrol near Duncan and West Side avenues early Saturday morning when they saw three men walking west on Duncan Avenue near Olean Avenue, the report says.
The officers parked the unmarked car to watch the men walk east on Duncan Avenue before turning around, according to the police report.
Officers said they watched one man adjust the left side of the waist band of his pants multiple times while looking back and forth, according to the report, and saw something bulging from his shirt. Police believed this suspect had a handgun, the report states.
Around 1:05 a.m., the officers left their car to approach the three men, and advised them that they were going to be investigated, according to the report.
As the officers left their car, the actor suspected to have a gun started running east on Duncan Avenue, and two officers started chasing him on foot, according to the report. A third officer remained at the scene with the other two men, the report states.
The man who fled the scene held on to the left side of the waistband of his pants, and officers said they saw a gun handle sticking out of his pants, the report states.
Officers yelled to the suspect multiple times to stop, but he continued to run north to the parking lot of the Exxon Gas Station at 775 West Side Ave., according to the report.
Officers from the Street Crimes unit then arrived and also started chasing the suspect on foot, according to the report.
The suspect dropped a handgun and a cell phone, and jumped over the fence at the gas station parking lot that lead into the yard of 180 Duncan Ave., the report states.
Street Crime officers remained with the dropped hand gun while the other officers continued chasing the suspect as he ran along Duncan Avenue, according to the report.
The suspect, Tavin Robinson, was arrested on Duncan Avenue near Delaware Avenue and transported to the west district for processing, the report states. He was charged with resisting arrest, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose/firearms, prohibited weapons and devices with a "dum-dum/body" and unlawful possession of a weapon/handgun.
The recovered firearm was a blue and brown Taurus 357 Magnum with a wooden handle that had six live rounds, three with hollow points.
The other two men at the scene came up negative for outstanding warrants and sent on their way, the report states.
