Montague man died a week ago, days after devastating crash
MONTAGUE -- A local man died last week from injuries suffered in a motor-vehicle crash a few days earlier, the New Jersey Herald reported.
John Herkaler, 21, was driving on Clove Road Sept. 17 when he lost control of his 2000 Camaro and crashed through a guardrail on the opposite side of the road. Herkaler lost both legs in the accident and was in a medically induced coma before he was pronounced dead four days later, about two hours shy of what would have been his 22nd birthday. A passenger also suffered serious injuries in the crash.
Information on funeral arrangements was not immediately available.
