CARNEYS POINT TWP. -- Authorities responded to Penns Grove High School for after a 15-year-old student allegedly assaulted a teacher.
Carneys Point Police reported to the high school at 9:41 a.m. Monday for the altercation that occurred in a classroom.
The unidentified teacher was not charged in the incident, police confirmed Wednesday morning.
After the problem was under control, authorities said teenager was left in custody of school administration.
The student was charged with assault on a school employee and disorderly conduct, according to authorities.

The incident is still under investigation and will be reviewed with the superintendent and school board, Penns Grove-Carneys Point Regional School District Superintendent Dr. Zenaida Cobian said.
Cobian did not comment further on the matter.
The teenager was released to a legal guardian and juvenile court is pending.
Further information on the incident was not available at this time, police said.
