CLIFTON -- Police were on the scene of the Howard Johnson Inn on Route 3 in Clifton as of Friday afternoon.
City police officers were blocking off access to the hotel parking lot as of 1 p.m.
Individuals who were trying to check in to the hotel were being prevented from doing so.
Members of the SWAT team were also at the motel.
Officers at the scene described this as an active situation but they declined further comment.
