PATERSON - A man was briefly hospitalized after being shot in the buttocks Sunday, authorities said.
Paterson Police Director Jerry Speziale said the shots were fired around noon after a verbal dispute near a deli and liquor store on East Main Street, near its intersection with Hillman Street.
The unidentified victim drove himself to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was treated and released later Sunday afternoon.
Speziale said he did not believe there was any additional threat to the public. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
