Fox New Channel hosts the seventh Republican presidential debate live from Iowa, but minus Donald Trump. Follow this live blog for coverage of both the GOP debate and Trump's rally. Watch video

Seven Republican presidential candidates -- including Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie -- are scheduled to face off in the seventh Republican debate in Iowa on the Fox News Channel.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump will host a rally to benefit military veterans at Drake University in Des Moines at 9 p.m. E.T., the same time the main GOP debate is scheduled.

Trump is boycotting the debate because of his issues with moderator Megyn Kelly and how he said he was treated unfairly during the first debate.

The first Republican debate will begin at 7 p.m. and be moderated by Fox News Channel's Martha MacCallum and Bill Hemmer. That is expected to last for one hour.

Businesswoman Carly Fiorina, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania and former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore are scheduled to participate in the first debate.

The second debate will start at 9 p.m. and be moderated by Kelly, Bret Baier and Chris Wallace. This is expected to last for two hours.

Scheduled for the main Republican presidential debate is U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, retired neurosurgen Ben Carson, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Ohio Gov. John Kasich and U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky.

Come back a little before 7 p.m. and  follow our reporters on the ground in Des Moines and our Statehouse bureau in Trenton and their living room couches at home, as we follow both debates, as well as Trumps's rally.
