Authorities said David H. Light was also a substitute teacher at Gloucester City High School.
GLOUCESTER CITY -- A 33-year-old softball coach is facing sexual assault charges Tuesday after authorities said he had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old player 8 years ago.
The Camden County Prosecutor's Office said David H. Light, 33 of the city, was charged with four counts of second-degree sexual assault and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact. He was taken into custody on Friday.
Light -- whose father Dave Light earned a reputation as a legend during his 17 years coaching the softball team before retiring in 2014 -- is accused of having a sexual relationship with the female student from May 2008 to December 2008 while he was her coach and a substitute teacher at the high school.
Light's bail was set at $200,000.
