The men are accused of firing 21 shots into a group of adults and children two months ago, injuring five
TRENTON - Two men accused of opening fire on a crowd of adults and children outside a Trenton apartment building two months ago, maintained their innocence during separate court appearances Tuesday.
Cousins Brian Walker, 25, and Deshan Walker, 24, appeared by way of video for their individual bail hearings Tuesday on charges that they fired 21 shots into a crowd of people in March.
A group of 15 adults and two children were gathered outside an Oliver Street apartment building around 2 a.m. in mid-March when a dark-colored car pulled up, Mercer County Prosecutors said Tuesday.
A man got out and fired shots into the crowd, hitting five people and causing serious wounds before leaving. One person was hit in the forehead and chest while another was hit in the back, prosecutors said.
Investigators found 21 shell casings at the scene of the shooting.
All five people were expected to recover from the attack.

Surveillance videos and witness accounts from the scene led people to Brian and Deshan Walker, who were both arrested last month. Prosecutors said Tuesday that they believe Brian was the actual shooter but that Deshan was in the car.
A public defender representing both men said during Deshan's court appearance that he maintained his innocence. She said Deshan Walker has admitted he was with his cousin that night but that he was not involved in the shooting.
She added that Deshan Walker has been depressed since his arrest and that he's led a law-abiding life with no prior arrests.
Brian Walker's record is not as clean. Prosecutors said Tuesday that he had two separate endangering charges in 2006 and 2012.
Brian Walker also insisted he was innocent Tuesday, telling the judge, "These are only allegations."
A judge maintained the bails for both men. Brian Walker has a $2.4 million bail while Deshan Walker is being held on a $1 million bail.
